Breeze Volkswagen team up with The West Hants Club

Poole-based Breeze Volkswagen have signed up as business partners with the West Hants Club, an established sports and fitness club with a reputation of being one of the finest in the south.

The West Hants Club’s Business Partnership Scheme was set up to create a working partnership between the West Hants Club and local businesses who wish to support sport in the community, with an emphasis on tennis development.

Mark Langford, Head of Group Operations at Breeze Volkswagen, says, “We’re delighted to be partnering with the West Hants Club as part of our ongoing commitment to supporting young, local talent and encouraging participation in healthy lifestyles. Volkswagen has become the go-to brand for those with an active lifestyle; our range of cars and vans are ideal for sports enthusiasts as they have the flexibility to accommodate an array of equipment such as bikes, wind and kite surf kit…and tennis rackets of course!”

Local business support has been invaluable to the Club and has contributed to the increasing success of the juniors – 2016 saw them enjoy unprecedented national success and they ended the year as the winners of three categories at the National School Championships. More recently, the U14 Girls, U14 Boys, and U12 Girls Teams have reached this year’s Aegon National Team Tennis Finals.

The Club has received 4 vehicles from Breeze Volkswagen - two Golfs, one Touran and one T6 Shuttle - which will be used to transport players and coaches to their lessons and tournaments.

Peter Elviss, Chief Executive of The West Hants Club says, “Business Partnerships like those with Breeze Volkswagen provide financial support towards the cost of vehicles that safely transport our coaches and talented youngsters to tournaments both around the UK and in Europe too. These tournaments offer our juniors invaluable experience along with the opportunity to improve their rankings. The provisions from our business partners also allows us to offer scholarships to talented youngsters who may not normally have access to professional coaches and support.”

With increasing trends towards fitter and healthier lifestyles, the West Hants Club prides itself on its first class facilities, its buoyant membership community and full social calendar. It is ideally situated, nestled in tree lined Talbot Woods offering easy access to Bournemouth and Poole residents alike.

The Club also manages the Bournemouth Gardens Community Tennis Centre and four park sites offering affordable tennis for local families.
